It's the WFL TWEEN/TEEN CRAFTERNOON program!

Kids between 11 and 18 are welcome to join us for a great make-and-take project - the only limit is your imagination!!

6/20 - In the HYPERTUFA WORKSHOP, participants will learn to make their own backyard planter(s).  Plants are NOT included.

This program if for youth and adults (aged 12+ years), has limited space requiring registration HERE, and requires a $5 materials fee per person.

7/11 & 8/8 - SANDoodling at Onset Beach

Join us from 3:30-4:30pm for a little mindful meditation and creative doodling in the sand.  With diverse tools we'll be writing down our wishes, anxieties, and whatever makes us happy/unhappy - our goal is to let the tide take it all away leaving us with a clean slate and a fresh perspective!

This FREE program is for tweens & teens only.

No registration is required, just show up prepared to have fun.

NEWS ALERT!

Now in its second year, The New York Public Library's National Teen Banned Book Club shines a spotlight on YA books that have been banned or challenged, and invites teens across the country to read together. Each title comes with free downloadable discussion materials and access to YA authors for schools, libraries, and community book groups so we can have positive and meaningful conversations about young adult literature, identity, censorship, and more. Learn more.

This year's Teen Banned Book Club focuses on graphic novels. Each book club culminates in an online author talk made available to watch anytime

2025-26 MASS Center 4 the Book Student Reading Challenge

Join readers statewide for great reading prompts and PRIZES!

12 months of book prompt challenges with graphics of kids reading

How the challenge works (for families):

  • Students and families can choose a book that fits the monthly challenge.

  • Local libraries and independent bookstores are great places to seek recommendations! See if your school, library, bookstore, or other community organization is participating by searching through the Reading Partners list below.

  • Each month, the student (and parent/guardian if student is under 13) can fill out a short form to tell us about the book.

  • Mass Center for the Book will run drawings for prizes. Monthly participation determines eligibility.

  • Have fun!

This is a FUN challenge and anyone can participate!  We'd LOVE to hear your feedback and recommendations if you would like to "sound off" about any of your choices.

We began in April of 2023 and the challenge is ongoing!

Grab your familes, friends, co-workers, and anyone else you can think of to WRITE or DRAW your version of an EXQUISITE CORPSE!

This wickedly fun activity doesn't require any ONE person to be responsible and the results are hilarious - similar to a MadLibs game!

Forms for your corpse and the rules may be accessed by clicking HERE.

Check out the story behind the gruesome (but appropriate name) at this SITE.

Pictures on this page show the current corpses provided by staff & community members.
