Children’s Spring Storytime

Children’s Librarian Marcia Hickey has scheduled two programs for children this spring on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

On Tuesday evenings, a Teddy Bear Story Time takes place at 6:30 PM, starting on Tuesday, April 5. Children are encouraged to dress in their pajamas and bring their favorite stuffed animal. On Wednesday mornings, Children’s Spring Story Time begins on Wednesday, April 6 at 10 AM.

Each week Ms. Marcia will explore a new topic and include stories, songs and crafts. The programs will take place in either the Children’s Room or the Meeting Room.

Both programs will continue to take place every Tuesday and Wednesday, through the week of Wednesday, May 25.

Bright By Text

We’ve partnered with the United Way of Greater New Bedford to encourage caregivers with children prenatally through age eight to sign up for Bright by Text. This includes parents, parents-to-be, grandparents, babysitters, aunties, uncles, neighbors, friends, teachers and more.

The truth is there are many great resources for parents and caregivers, but when you have little ones, finding the time to research can be challenging. Thankfully, local information on resources

and events is a text away with messages targeted to your child’s age with fun easy activities, positive parenting tips, info on physical development and more.

To sign up, simply text the word “Great” to 274448, to receive two to four short text messages a week. You’ll get a link to a page with more detail, short videos and links to resources. This service is provided free of charge by the United Way and their partners.
