Wareham, Mass. – The Wareham Free Library is pleased to announce that it will reopen to the public on Monday, February 8, by appointment only for limited browsing and computer use. The public hours will be 10 AM to 4:45 PM, Monday through Saturday.

In order to enter the building, patrons must call the circulation desk at (508) 295-2343, extension 0, to make a 45-minute reservation, starting at the top of each hour.

During their reservation, patrons may pick-up held items, browse the stacks, register for a library card, borrow materials, use public computers, make photocopies, or send faxes. Patrons are asked to keep touching items to a minimum and must bring their own headphones when using public computers.

Up to 25 patrons will be allowed entry into the building: 16 patrons will be permitted to browse the adult and young adult collection, four patrons are allowed to use computer workstations, and five patrons or one family are able to visit the children’s room. Library patrons must abide by all safety protocols and social distancing requirements as established by state and municipal guidelines while at the Library.

The Wareham Free Library will continue curbside pick-up service for patrons who do not wish to enter the building, Monday through Saturday, 10 AM to 4 PM.

Five minute appointments can be made to pick up items by calling the circulation desk. Upon arrival to the library, patrons must park their cars by the entrance, and either open their trunk, rear door, or passenger window to receive items.

Patrons may return items to the book drops at the Main Library and the Spinney Memorial Branch. There will be a three-day quarantine period for any returned items.

As a reminder, patrons still have the option of checking out digital e-books and audiobooks through Libby/Overdrive and accessing the libraries streaming service Hoopla. Instructional videos on how to use Libby/Overdrive are available on the library website, underneath the e-resources tab. New virtual children’s story time, book talk videos, and weekly themed activities are also placed on the website every Wednesday.
